Candidate for
Council Member; City of Sausalito

I have been working on Sausalito boards and committees for the past thirteen years. This experience has provided me with the skills to work with all sectors of our community. And that has meant, at times, being able to help citizens reach consensus on some very charged issues. I have managed to do this and still deliver the outcome in a timely manner.

I want to bring this skill to the council. I know that the majority rules and that if my viewpoint does not prevail that is the democratic way. I will support my council and not work as an advocate, independent of the council, to try and exert my personal point of view.

The role of a councilperson should be to make the best decisions for our community using an open mind, doing the homework needed to be fully informed and listening to all points of view. I have demonstrated that I can do so and look forward to a new role on the council. I am fully aware of the time commitment needed for this important work and enter into this with my eyes wide open.
