Political Philosophy for Robert Studdiford
Candidate for |
I have spent the past 12 years volunteering to improve district schools and ensure our kids have the best educational experience possible. I have served eight years on the Citizens' Bond Oversight Committee and seven on the Citizens' Budget Advisory Committee. My regular attendance at school board meetings has given me valuable insights into the district's needs. I have also coached youth soccer and high school mountain biking, where I taught students the importance of teamwork and fair play. All these experiences give me a real understanding of the critical issues facing our district at a time when we are still struggling to recover from a crippling recession. If elected, my priorities will be keeping our children, teachers and school staff safe; renovating and upgrading classrooms; providing a top quality learning experience for all children; holding down class sizes; strengthening vocational training and the arts; and supporting our teachers. Most importantly, we need to do all this while holding the line on spending and meeting the highest standards of accountability to taxpayers. I respectfully ask for your vote so we can work together, with parents, teachers, students and staff, to help our district meet these challenges. |
