Education and Qualifications:

I was born and raised in Pittsburg, graduating from Pittsburg High and University of California, Davis, with degrees in Political Science, Sociology and History. I was a businessman in Pittsburg for over 25 years. I am currently Vice President of a locally owned property management company. I served 13 years on the Pittsburg City Council, from 1989 to 2002, including two terms as Pittsburg Mayor (1993 and 1997). I am a father of three: daughter Rachel age 22 and twins, son Dante and daughter Bianca, age 6.

I want to return to the City Council because Pittsburg is facing tough economic times and we need council members with vision, proven leadership skills and sound fiscal responsibility. In my previous tenure on the City Council, I was instrumental in forming the Pittsburg Power Company in 1996. This bold, innovative venture, envied by many other cities, and has brought over $30 million in revenue to Pittsburg. With the demise of Redevelopment Agencies throughout the state, the Power Company has become the major economic development tool for Pittsburg.

I stand for expanding recreation opportunities for both adults and children. I am a strong supporter of fully staffing our police department. I was instrumental in opening one new fire station in Pittsburg and relocating two others, which vastly improved emergency response times. While I was on the City Council, major infrastructure improvements were made through doubling the capacity of the water treatment plant, replacing the majority of the water and sewer mains, undertaking major street repairs and expanding our park system.

On November 6th, I ask for your vote so I can return to the Pittsburg City Council to continue to provide leadership for Pittsburg's future.
