Acomplishments with ARPDPerfect Attendance record Coordinated the 60th Anniversary Celebration "A Day In The Park" in 2006 and hopely to do the same for the 70th Celebration in 2016 Managed budget by putting in effect several cost saving programs Securing $600,000 from the City of Pittsburg for Ambrose Park Increased youth, senior and other special events Build relationships with the BP Chamber, non-profits, large and small business Keep District infrastructure maintained and in good condition All the NEW activities to do at Ambrose and the NEW and repaired infrastructure New Biddy Sports Flag Tag for kids 3 to 5 + Provided by generous grant from Kaiser New Jump Bunch exercise for preschoolers. Seniors have a choice to attend two free exercise classes Cane-Do or low impact exercise class. Seniors can get a free blood screening every third Monday of the month + In partnership by John Muir Health Services. Through a kind grant from Keller Canyon Mitigation Funds, all the CC Café seniors enjoy special celebrations for Valentine's Day, 4th of July, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. All the seniors in attendance at the Thanksgiving Luncheon receive a free turkey to take home. New Beginning Salsa dancing The weight room is the best deal in town for people over 18 years old Two Masters of Martial Arts teach at the center + Shorinjo Kempo and Taek Do Several daily adult aerobics class Dancing through the East County Kids in Motion and the Bay Point All Stars New things at Ambrose: New kitchen tile flooring paid by park redevelopment fees New mats in Mat Room from grant moneys by Henkel Corporation New website, Facebook and Twitter New paint job update of Teen Center by Henkel employees New kitchen sink and counters from grant monies from Keller Canyon Mitigation Funds New Ansell Fire System in the kitchen Added new tables at Anuta Park New carpets through-out the center New paint outside provided by the Church of later Saints New paint indoors |
