My name is: Michael J. "Mike" Doyle My age is: My occupation is: Retired Education and Qualifications: Danville is a great town. Protecting Danville and keeping it a great place to live, work and raise a family is the reason I am asking for the privilege of once again serving you on the Town Council. It has been my honor to represent you since 1991. We can all take pride in the progress and success our town has enjoyed. On so many issues, Danville has taken the prudent, careful path. Because we have such a special place to cherish, the Town Council's proper policy has always been clear. While many other cities and counties in our state are facing dire budget and service crises, Danville has substantial reserves, an excellent credit rating and we have always balanced our budget. We have resisted the temptation to spend beyond our means. Every year we have put money aside for the very kind of difficult days that most of California faces today. As promised, we have also maintained a tight rein on growth and development. Unlike other jurisdictions, Danville has not allowed the overbuilding and endless sprawl that now devastates communities both environmentally and financially. When you already enjoy such a quality hometown, why change it? We haven't. Government's first responsibility is protecting public safety. Through the courage and energy of our police and firefighters, we are secure in our homes. Dining out, shopping and recreating are pleasurable and safe. The Town continues to support the business community and assist our schools. In all areas, we have tried to carefully create the right balance. The results are obvious. If you will honor me again with your vote, I will continue to bring my experience and passion for Danville to my work every day. It's a job I love. Thank you. |
