Official Statement for Ken Carlson
Candidate for |
My name is: Ken Carlson My age is: 50 My occupation is: Police Officer for 23 years, Homicide Detective, Hostage Negotiator and Crime Scene Investigator Education and Qualifications: Pleasant Hill has always been a safe city to live and raise a family. Now, we're victim to homicides, drive-by shootings, bank robberies and gun- related incidents. We need to get a handle on crime before it affects residents' safety. I am running for City Council because I believe Pleasant Hill is at a crossroads. We need leaders who will make sound decisions. If elected, I will focus on: "Zero Tolerance" for Crime - As a 23-year police officer, I will work with police to adopt a "Zero Tolerance" for crime in Pleasant Hill. Pittsburg did this successfully, driving criminals out-of-town; so can we. I am proudly endorsed by the Pleasant Hill Police Officers' Association. Strong Truancy Ordinance - We need a more effective plan to keep kids in school and out of trouble. I will work with District Attorney Mark Peterson to address parents of kids who habitually cut school. Common-Sense Budgeting - I will make sound financial decisions for our taxpayers. I do not support cutting public safety when top administrators continue to enjoy some of the highest salaries in Contra Costa County. Please call (925) 603-3409 or email me at policeofficerkencarlson@gmail.com to share your ideas. I would be honored to earn your support. |
