Governing Board Member; Gridley Unified School District; Trustee Area 2

It is my strongest, most basic belief that our public schools are America's greatest asset. We have become the greatest nation in the world because we educate all our citizens to the highest possible degree. Our schools' Boards of Trustees are an essential part of our educational system.

As a life-long educator -- both a teacher and an administrator -- I have been involved in the accreditation -- the evaluation, verification and certification -- of schools more than 100 times. I've accredited schools in several states (more than 60 in California) and 16 countries. Everywhere I've been I've heard praise for America's schools. I still work, part-time, as a special consultant (and troubleŽshooter) for WASC(Western Association of Schools and Colleges), the organization that accredits all schools and colleges in California. I'm a former President of WASC, as well.

I believe I have the knowledge and first-hand experience to serve productively and positively in continuing the progress and improvement of Gridley's schools. Among the other positions I've held are two superintendencies of districts in Northern California, similar to Gridley. I'd appreciate your vote for Gridley's Board; I'll always listen and make a sincere effort to serve you and all our children.
