Preserving Alameda's BeautyBy Tony DaysogCandidate for Council Member; City of Alameda | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
My long-time companion lives in the East End of town and, quite frequently, I go from my home in the West End to her place, driving along Shoreline Drive. As I drive down Shoreline drive at a leisurely 25-27 MPH, especially in the morning when the air is so fresh and sun-shine so golden, I can't help but remind myself how beautiful our city is. Sometimes I'll drive down Central Avenue, particularly the segment of Central between Sherman and Caroline Streets with the canopy of leafy trees hovering over Central Avenue. Alameda is such a beautiful town. If I'm elected to City Council, I won't ever forget why so many of use chose to move here, or for those who've been here for years, why we choose to stay. We don't need to build on every square inch of vacant land in town or at Alameda Point: I wil do everything in my powers, as your Councilman, to preserve our natural and man-made beauty, our architectural history, and our family-focused quality of life. |
