Raising a family and working in Berkeley for the past 25 years has given me a lot of insights into how our town is run + and how it could work better for you. As a gay parent with a disability, I understand the needs and concerns of disenfranchised communities, and will ensure those interests and opinions get a voice on the council. I served as chair of the city's Commission on Disability and have brought my disability expertise to much of the work I have done. My work with the Berkeley Public Library on planning for the old South Branch focused on creating access for people with disabilities, which will in turn lead to a better branch library for everyone. My skills in business, non-profit administration, and education make me uniquely qualified to serve you on the Berkeley City Council. As a home builder, gay parent with a disability (I am legally blind), and a leader for a broad range of people with disabilities, I will bring a new vision to the council. |
