Questions & Answers

1. How will you prioritize the budget choices the Legislature must make to align the state’s income and spending?

I will support the allocation of funding to the greatest needs,; healthcare, safety and child care,ie hospitals, schools, prison reform

2. What types of changes or reforms, if any, do you think are important to make our state government function more effectively?

1.Taxes and budgets must be approved by a straight majority.

2.Cut wasteful spending on awarded political interest.

3. Eliminate duplicate services that are paid, such as boards and commissions that are not volunteer services.

3. Fees for public higher education have gone up dramatically and funding has been cut. Is this a priority concern, and if so, what measures would you propose to address it?

Fees are a priority concern in this campaign because as a Delta Community College Trustee, the administration and the board are experiencing examples of educational funding at its worst case senarios. After all avenues of funding resources are utilized, I will seek to partner with private businesses and corporations that benefit from public funding, such as the taxpayer voter approved construction bond programs that aid community college rehabilitation, to give back some of those funds for the benefit of our students.

4. What other major issues do you think the Legislature must address? What are your own priorities?

Release ,re-entry, rehabilitate, and educate youthful non- violent offenders that will be returning to their home counties. The additional funding can either come from non-essential programs, perhaps duplicate services, or raise a special tax that will affect only those that make 250,000 a year. My priorities consist of rehabilitating, training, and education rather than incarceration of non violent offenders.
