Mayor Mark Green was born in Peoria, Illinois in 1953. He graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1975 with a B.A. in Political Science. A resident of Union City for over 35 years, he has two sons, Luke (25) and Lance (24). He shared his love of history and government as a substitute teacher for the Hayward Unified School District, and ran a successful insurance business for 21 years.
Green is a truly independent, highly-qualified candidate for the State Assembly. Like many Americans, he is tired of the gridlock in Sacramento and is frustrated at California's economic climate. Mayor Green believes our State Assembly needs to focus on what is important to Californians, not party politics.
