A request for your vote based on what I have been and have become, my core issue, and party activities.
Fellow Democrats, the Central Committee is our Democratic Party core here in San Joaquin County, Everyone running is a good Democrat. I am 56 years old, working full time, married with one child, in good health, and educated. Politics, religion, science, engineering, and history are my favorite subjects that I bring to political endeavors. I grew up an Eisenhower Republican who talked politics to everybody. By December, 1986 I could no longer honestly defend what Republicanism had become. Ollie North utilized a Nuremburg defense for Iran-Contra and that was too much for me.

I voted No on Proposition 13 and all propositions that have limited legislative flexibility on formulating tax law. Two-thirds majorities in the Legislature has been the Republican incubator for obstruction politics and is anti-democratic. We must return to simple majorities at state and local levels in tax law legislating in order to progress as a state. Our party must further develop our taxation philosophy. Governments tax and spend. Republicans have little moral or historic credibility in the tax realm. I have been a Democrat for 25 years and involved with the Central Committee for 23 years.

1990-2008 I researched, wrote, printed and distributed slate sheets on behalf of the SJDCC. Slate sheets tell Democrats who all the Democrats are on ballots for all offices and State Democratic Party positions on propositions. Other duties have been road sign production, erection, and take down; precinct walking, telephone banking, event support, state convention attendance, poll watching, vote count observer, 2006-2008 committee Recording Secretary, monthly meeting attendance, and voter registration.

My parents taught me that you join a political party that most closely fits your political philosophy and that you vote your party line in order to put your philosophy of government into government at all levels. Also, all elected offices are partisan in that people bring their political philosophies with them. My mother tempered that with, 'They are all to govern for the common good.' I want Democrats to govern for the common good. Thank you for your vote.
