We need to re-engage our communities in the education process
As a school board member it is important to promote policies that encourage students to take
responsibility for their actions.
- Support all prevention programs that work to keep all students from drugs, violence, gangs, bullying and provide education and assistance to all families that are victim to these issues.
- Strongly support the use of technology in closing the achievement gap. I will promote the hiring of a grant writer to bring in additional revenue to upgrade and expand technology in our schools.
- We must have a stronger emphasis on K-3rd grade reading and learning skills.
- Improve graduation rates through aggressive early intervention and credit recovery programs.
- Hold the Superintendent and Administration responsible for their actions.
- Value and seek the voice of the community when making decisions.
- Transparency in all actions taken by the Board and School District must be paramount.
- Reduce all unnecessary and excessive spending.
- Provide leadership that is proactive not reactive.
- Promote policies that show respect for our communities, students and staff.
- Student and Staff safety will always be first.
- h Increase community involvement and provide accessibility to all.
