Anyone seeking a leadership position in the Democratic Party must support core Democratic values and have a history of hard work for the organization.Anyone seeking a leadership position in the Democratic Party at whatever level must show support of core Democratic values. These include environmental protection and responsible land use planning. They also include supporting equal rights for all citizens regarless of race, religion, gender, age or sexual orientation. Supporting a woman's right to choose, the availability of quality affordable education and health care, and the right to free speech are also core Democratic values. Equally important if one is seeking a leadership position in the Democratic Party is to show that the person has earned that position by working long and hard for that party and its success. A history of doing the unglamorous nitty-gritty party work is an essential qualification for being granted a leadership position and for deserving the trust of the rank and file Democratic Party voters. |
