Entrepreneur & Small Business Owner When I left my corporate job in 2001, I made a decision to go into business for myself. It wasn't easy at first, in fact it was hard, but it was also very rewarding. In 2002 the company I started with my business partner, Eric Burdette, signed the largest commercial lease deal in the City of Cincinnati for our DataSuites data center business. That company was directly responsible for nearly two dozen information technology jobs created in the City of Cincinnati. We started a novelty publishing company in 2003, and I run that company today. My company produces Hero Deck Playing Cards and jigsaw puzzles which are sold at retail outlets all across the country. We are proud of the fact that our products are made in the USA. The business is fun and challenging and we had the vision to see the opportunity. I'm also involved in a couple of start-up ventures including one software company company, focused on tea drinkers called Tea Informatics. I'm an idea guy and I have a proven track record of executing my ideas. My Family Elena and I met during our senior year at college and we have been together ever since. As she likes to point out most of the better decisions in our life have been made when I've listened to her. Elena is an Occupational Therapist and works in the local school system helping students who have special needs. We have been blessed with three great kids, Ariel 13, Armen 11 and Alex 9. They are all active participants in local youth sports programs. I coach my youngest son's baseball and basketball teams. Being a dad has been the greatest joy. Education & Work Experience Bachelor of Science, 1990 + Bentley College, Waltham, MA Masters in Business Administration, 1999 + University of Cincinnati I've been fortunate to work for two of the best companies in America. I joined Fidelity Investments right out of school and worked there for nearly seven years. I was a financial analyst working in their mutual fund division and later for their internal operations. I also worked for Deloitte & Touche in their consulting practice on software system implementations. Prior to starting my first company, I worked for Cincinnati Bell where I had a unique opportunity to work on strategic initiatives for the company. While I liked corporate America, I knew my calling was in Entrepreneurship. |
