League Question: What do you think is needed to attract Pittsburgh parents of school age children to enroll their children in the public schools ratheBy Regina B. HolleyCandidate for School Director; Pittsburgh School District; District 2 | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
ANswer: : The Pittsburgh Public Schools must utilize the experience of current public school parents when developing a plan to attract students. PPS needs to change their approach from a top heavy, corporate style to a ground level, student/parent focus. Marketing will not attract parents, the district's primary approach in recent years. If elected, I will advocate for creating safe and nurturing schools that are community centered and hopefully, start to regain the public's confidence. |
