1. What services do you believe should be considered basic and essential for the Village?
Answer from Alan Zaffiro:
Police, fire and paramedic services, of course. Infrastructure maintenance, community beautification, parks and recreation, enforcing standards for conduct and property maintenance are also vital services for stabilizing/revitalizing older communities.
2. How would you balance the Village Budget?
Answer from Alan Zaffiro:
Continue efforts to attract quality business enterprises to occupy vacant sites available in the village and to increase revenue from income taxes. Continue to improve efficiency of tax collections on money already due the village. Continue urban renewal activities to improve our image and increase property values. Continue program of process improvement within each department to obtain the best value for insurance, services, and all expenditures, and to increase efficiency of operations.
3. What actions will you take to support clean air?
Answer from Alan Zaffiro:
The village has already taken action to reduce energy consumption by replacing lighting, installing motion sensors, buying fuel-efficient vehicles, and replacing HVAC units with high-efficiency models. We are also involved in Hamilton County's climate initiative program and energy efficiency grant program.
