This information is provided by the candidate |
If you've driven through Belmont lately, chances are you've encountered a streets in dire need of repair. In fact, only two cities in San Mateo County have worse roads than Belmont.Belmont's Roads By The Numbers: · 57... The number of roads in Belmont in Very Poor condition · 67... The number of roads in Belmont in Poor condition · 52... The number of roads in Belmont in Fair condition · 2... The number of cities in San Mateo County with roads worse than Belmont. What Needs To Be Done: · A Capital Improvement Program Needs To Be Implemented... Belmont needs a Capital Improvement Roads Plan. As a Councilmember, I will make road repair a priority, starting with Belmont's worst road (Laurel Street). · Cost Considerations Need To Be Understood ... It costs 5 times as much money to repair a poor or very poor quality road than it does to maintain a good quality road. The City's current road repair philosophy is the very definition of "penny wise and pound foolish." |
