Juanita M. Gonzales has been an educator for the past 25 years. Her education experience has been as a teacher, Dean of Students, Assistant Principal and Principal at the high school level. Currently Juanita M. Gonzales is a middle school teacher for the Los Angeles Unified School District. Juanita M. Gonzales grew up, went to school and still reside in the City of South El Monte. She has been an active member of my community as an Executive Board Member for the El Monte/South El Monte Jets Football and a volunteer youth basketball coach for the City of South El Monte. After graduating high school Juanita attended and completed her Associate of Arts Degree in General Education at Rio Hondo Community College. She then received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Physical Education from Cal State Los Angeles as well as her Single Subject Clear Teaching Credential. Juanita went on to receive her Master of Arts Degree from San Diego State University in Education with an emphasis in Educational Leadership, as well as her Preliminary Administrative Services Credential. Juanita has just completed her coursework from Los Angeles County Office of Education for her Clear Administraive Credential. As an educator Juanita has been a teacher, Dean of Students, Assistant Principal and Principal. As Principal of a high school of 4600 students and 150 classified and certificated staff she knew the importance of bringing all stakeholders together to improve student achievement. During Juanita's tenure as Principal she was in charge of bringing all stakeholders together to write a school improvementnt reform plan for the high school. This plan was overwhelmingly approved by the local board of education as well as the state board of education. Juanita is well aware of what it takes to ensure all of our high school students are collge and career ready and she has proven she can work with, students, parents, teachers, classified, administrators and distict staff to improve student achievement. |
