Political Philosophy for Carol J. Rowley
Candidate for |

For more than 42 years, I have lived in the same house in San Ramon. I have taken great pride in being an active parent and citizen. Over the years people have asked me why I put so much time into volunteering and serving in our community. The answer is simple + I enjoy bringing people together to preserve the special quality of life we enjoy here in San Ramon. Whether it was working as a teacher and principal at Country Club Elementary for thirty years, serving on the Parks Commission, or serving as your City Councilmember, I have always made good on my commitment to make San Ramon a better place to live, work, and play. In my eight years on the City Council, we doubled the number of fire stations in the city, streamlined services for residents, and helped keep our libraries open. In addition, I took a leadership role in our City's emergency preparedness. As a thirteen year Parks and Community Services Commissioner, I am proud we also doubled the number of parks, and working with the school district, opened a new Performing Arts Center. We achieved all of this while maintaining balanced budgets, a strong fiscal reserve, and implemented policies to achieve a Triple A investment rating. As your Mayor, I will continue to bring fiscal responsibility and integrity to our City and ensure that our parks, services and facilities are well maintained. I will focus on maintaining a safe and secure City and continue our work retaining and attracting business, creating jobs, and supporting working families. I believe government works best when its leaders listen, and you can count on me to be accessible, hardworking, and committed to the future of our great city! I respectfully request your vote for Mayor. Together, we can ensure a strong and vibrant San Ramon. |
