This information is provided by the candidate |
Working in Board of Education District 7A hallmark of Dr. Vladovic's career is his willingness to implement innovative, effective programs and strategies that enhance both the quality and quantity of learning within the schools he represents. As a member of the Board of Education he advocates for smaller schools to ensure students receive a more personalized education. He also fights to take schools off of year round calendars and renovate our existing schools. He is a strong advocate for student safety and works diligently to reduce dropout rates, raise student attendance, and increase student achievement. Some of Dr. Vladovic's other issues include fighting for environmentally safe and responsible schools, maintaining good labor relations to ensure negotiations remain child focused, championing for the arts, and building and sustaining mentorship and dropout prevention programs. He provides a strong and knowledgeable oversight to LAUSD purchasing and contracting staff, has a mastery of budget issues in aiding the district in redirecting resources directly to schools, and is an asset in labor negotiations. Throughout his career, Dr. Vladovic has been primarily concerned with student progress. To this end, he works to establish effective partnerships with elected officials, businesses, and community-based organizations to improve educational programs at school sites. Dr. Vladovic cares deeply about children and strongly believes that all of the adults in an educational community bear the responsibility of ensuring that our students are really learning: that they are growing, thinking, and stretching the boundaries of their abilities every single day, as we help them along the path to meeting their full potential. With your support as the newly appointed Vice President of the Los Angeles Unified School District Board of Education, he will continue to advocate for children and ensure that every child receives a high quality public education. |
