Board Member; Pasadena Unified School District; Seat 6

Dear Friends & Neighbors,

I'd like to introduce myself and share with you the philosophy behind my candidacy for the Pasadena School Board.

My name is Gaylaird Christopher and I believe the exceptional quality of our communities can be matched in the educational programs and facilities of the Pasadena Unified School District; to achieve that standard will require a focused, creative effort.

Key goals I am certain can bring educational results and attract students to our District:

• Re-open closed schools
• Consider K-8 neighborhood schools
• Establish contemporary Career Technical Education Programs that match real-world needs & standards
• Partner with businesses, community organizations, local colleges & universities, and private schools to expand educational opportunities, offer internships and effective mentoring
• Establish District-sponsored charter schools that offer focused areas of study and multiply learning pathways
• Consider re-use of under-utilized facilities + joint-use, mixed-use, etc.
• Assure Measure TT PUSD construction monies are spent wisely
