San Mateo County, CA | November 2, 2010 Election |
District Financial ConditionBy James "Jim" TuckerCandidate for Commissioner; San Mateo County Harbor District | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
The District is in sound financial condition even in these difficult economic times. When I took office as your Commissioner the debt to the State of California, for development and infrastucture costs, was approximately $17 million dollars. Through hard work, good management and a sound business plan we now owe approximately $10 million dollars. The entire debt, most of which was created many years ago, will be paid off by 2019. That is quite an accomplishment in these difficult economic times. The District continues to look for new sources of revenue while keeping the costs to berthers and users alike within reason. Currently we receive $4.7 million in property taxes and $3.3 million in operating revenues. Our ending cash,in hand, position in June 2011 is expected to be $9.9 million. We on your Harbor Commission are proud of this accomplishment and I personally ask for your vote on November 2nd. |
