Political Philosophy for Jay Siegel
Candidate for |

|
A native Californian, I attended public schools in California and have a daughter currently attending La Entrada middle school. I respect the importance of public education and recognize how fortunate we are to have such an outstanding elementary and middle school in our District. I pledge to work hard not to just maintain but to enhance our district schools' educational programs.family I began volunteering in the classroom and PTA activities for Las Lomitas elementary school when my child started Kindergarten. I was appointed last year to the School Board and have the benefit of one year of "on the job" training under my belt. Our District benefits from the resources our community contributes through property taxes, financial donations, excellent teachers and administrators and from wonderful volunteers. Yet our District continues to face significant challenges from state budget cutbacks, federal performance requirements, and increasing student enrollment. The combination of my experience volunteering in school activities, being on the school board, and professional background (Ph.D. from Stanford in economics and statistics) enables me to contribute to solving the difficult problems facing the school board in the years ahead. I ask for your continued support of public education and for your vote on November 2nd. |
