Why You should vote for Geoffrea Morris for District 10 Supervisor

This is a letter to voters explaining why they should vote for Geoffrea Morris. This letter includes biographical information on Geoffrea as well as work experience and community contributions. The purpose of this letter is to inform voters that integrity and honesty is once again in the race for District 10 Supervisor. Voting for Geoffrea Morris for District 10 Supervisor is like voting for your next door neighbor.

Dear District 10 registered voters: I, Geoffrea (jah-free-ah) Morris a candidate for District 10 Supervisor, am writing this letter to you because I believe it will speak louder than any glossy advertisement that you will receive in the mail. This letter is intended to be personal and make you feel as if you have a pen pal. I hope this letter begins a quality friendship that I can take with me into office as your next supervisor in January 2011.

While I am unknown to San Francisco politics, I am no stranger to District 10. I am not only a native of District 10; I received my entire primary and secondary education from District 10 schools (E.R. Taylor Elementary, Martin Luther King Middle school, and Phillp and Sala Burton High School). If you are an organic shopper, think of me as organic as it comes in this District 10 race. From being born, raised, educated and employed by District 10, I am the poster child of everything that is going well with our community.

In addition to possessing a Bachelor's degree in Child and Adolescent Development with a concentration in School-Age and Family from San Francisco State University and a Master's Degree in Social Work from Cal State East Bay, I have become a pillar in the Bayview Hunter's Point and Visitacion Valley communities. With extensive work in District 10's low income housing projects, I have assisted thousands of families in their transition through the county's welfare department. As one of the original staffers of the Bayview Hunter's Point YMCA, my Just 4 Girls program and Summer Day Camp programs have continued to be sustainable and vibrant programs in the Bayview community.

Just recently, I partnered with Hunter's Point Family and Five Keys Charters school to produce an independent studies summer school for more 65 students attending the four major high schools in District 10. I have spent my life in the social support field.

While I was not eligible for public funding, I have donated more than $5,000 of my own money into my campaign and will continue to do so because I believe in myself and the power of District 10 voters. I believe you all will be able to see through the political jargon of most of the well paid candidates. By electing me, we members of District 10 will send a loud and clear message to City Hall, downtown corporations, and millionaire investors, that we the people of District 10 can not be bought. District 10 is filled with law-abiding, hard working, homeowners and renters that want a candidate that puts people, safety, quality schools, and mandatory local hiring as their number one priorities.

So I say to you like I mentioned in my candidate's statement: Dare to Dream that you can own your own vote. I have not shied away from difficult questions or issues. I have been steadfast to my beliefs and my platform. District 10 needs someone that is truly invested in the people. District 10 needs a supervisor that puts people first over development and career opportunities over meaningless job placement and training. I, Geoffrea Morris, represent everything that is good with District 10. I am asking you to step up and exercise your voice as a registered voter and say, "We want Geoffrea (Jah-free-ah) Morris because she speaks for me. She is an independent thinker and a woman of principle and integrity.

So on November 2, 2010, please vote for the candidate that will give you the most, Geoffrea Morris. Please vote for me only. Don't be tricked by Rank choice voting. Vote one and be done.
