Providing more with less!By Royce MooreCandidate for Board Member; Escondido Union School District | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
Instead of trying to figure out how to get more money for education for our students, we will need to figure out how to get more education for our money. It has been my honor and privilege to have been elected by the citizens of Escondido to occupy on of the five seats on the Governing Board of the Escondido Union School District for the past eight years. During those eight years our board of education has faced many challenges relating to school finances. As a fiscally conservative member I have endeavored to maintain financial integrity within our budget while at the same time promoting a rigorous educational program for all students during an unprecedented state budget crisis. As an eight year board member I have, along with my board colleagues: supported and maintained our music program, established 21st century technology for all district students, created an education foundation, built four new schools, reorganized schools when necessary and maintained accountability for employees and students. The EUSD board of education has maintained integrity with the citizens of Escondido by being fiscally conservative with tax payers dollars. As a board we will need to continue to keep our focus on providing a quality education with less money from the state. We have been nationally recognized as a high performing district in the delivery of technology in our classrooms. EUSD is also recognized as a leader in the education of English language learners. During the past 45 years I have served Escondido as a professional educator and community leader and with your help I will continue in this endeavor. |
