Worked to improve Oceanside's quality of life.Public safety is a high priority for all residents. Jerry has worked to eliminate unnecessary spending while hiring nine new police officers (contributing to the lowest crime rate in 30 years), worked to help combat our gang issues, and spearheaded efforts to construct a new fire station that reduced response times. Jerry supported building Mance Buchanon Park and two new skate parks. Jerry supported the enhancement of our bicycle trail system leading to Oceanside's designation as a "Bicycle-Friendly City." Jerry supports and listens to our senior communities' concerns. Jerry worked with Francine Villa and Ocean Hills residents to resolve problems, and supported Costa Serena residents in their battle to remain a 55 and older community. Jerry supported construction of our new El Corazon Senior Center, and voted for a future assisted living facility. As a military veteran, Jerry understands Oceanside's unique relationship with Camp Pendleton, and will continue to foster positiverelations. Jerry was instrumental in bringing the Veterans Administration Medical Clinic to Oceanside. Jerry worked with Veterans groups to make the North County Veterans Center a reality. |
