Candidate StatementBy Randy ScofieldCandidate for Board Member; Cambrian School District | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
As a School Board member, community and parent volunteer, I have worked to improve and maintain the quality of education in the Cambrian School District. My background in technology and business and as a Cambrian school parent and community volunteer allows me to bring experience, skills and perspective to Cambrian's school board. I take my obligation to oversee the District's responsible use of resources very seriously. I have also worked to help generate additional resources by working for and supporting successful campaigns to support modernization of the District's school buildings (Measure G), as well as class size reduction, music, physical education, art, science and classroom technology (Measure H). I work diligently to keep open lines of communication with teachers, parents and community members to ensure that District is working collaboratively and effectively. It is important that the District provide adequate resources and set the environment to maximize student achievement in reading, writing and math, without losing sight of the importance of social studies, science, music, physical education, and art. I have consistently supported these programs as a Board member, a Site Council President, and as a parent volunteer. I ask that you allow me to use my skills, background and dedication to serve you on the Cambrian School Board. |
