"It Is All About The People"By David CastaldoCandidate for Council Member; City of Beaumont | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
The platform of David Castaldo, candidate for Beaumont City Council 2010 August 26, 2010 I love our Beaumont. I love the people that live in this community. We live in a wonderful and beautiful area of California. The City of Beaumont is a very successful community. We have great schools and recreational facilities that many cities of our size do without. I feel that our City has done many good things that we all can be proud of. I am running for the Beaumont City Council because I want to serve our community. I have been involved in many community service events. I served on the board of the Beaumont Chamber of Commerce as president-elect. I served as centennial year president of the Beaumont Cherry Valley Rotary Club. I have been an integral part of the Cherry Festival Parade for many years. My best qualification for City Councilman is serving a full four year term on the Beaumont Planning Commission during the City's greatest growth period. Of the four years, I served my second year as vice-chairman and my third year as chairman. Unlike today, our agenda had many items to consider. It was not unusual for a meeting to last 4 to 5 hours. Many times we had to meet twice a month to handle the caseload. During my "apprenticeship" on the planning commission, I gained a deep insight into our community. I gained a reputation of being fair and impartial, and asking some tough questions. All of my decisions on the Planning Commission were in the best interest of the citizens of Beaumont. It is my duty to serve the People, because it is all about the People. |
