Candidate for
Board of Directors; Monterey Peninsula Airport District

I have owned and operated FourWinds Travel in Carmel for more than 16 years. My background in the travel industry makes me a perfect fit for Monterey Peninsula Airport District Board of Directors.

I attend and contribute to most Monterey Peninsula Airport District Board meetings which need to be more transparent and moved to nights. The public needs to take back their airport with more open meetings.

I believe that changes need to be made at the airport because:

1. Aircraft noise continues to be a problem and must be mitigated.

2. We need low-cost carriers, the smart way. We need to show low cost airlines that Monterey-San Diego is a profitable market for them. We need lower prices out of and into Monterey, not necessarily more high priced flights.

3. There's financial turbulence ahead. Our airport needs to be prepared. Our airport needs fiscal responsibility.

4. Airport Board meetings need to be more visible. They should be moved from Wednesday mornings to Wednesday evenings. They should also be televised.

5. Together we can create an airport worthy of our world class peninsula.

I run my own business and I understand Business Economics.

Airport tenants are an important part of our airport and must be supported.

My commercial pilot's license coupled with my advertising, marketing and promotions experience are valuable assets for this position.

Marketing our airport will make it profitable and it will improve customer service at the airport.

I am a Vietnam-era veteran, member of the Elks and past American Legion Commander.

Our airport brings tourists with money directly to Monterey bypassing other airports and their facilities. We must bring more travelers directly here.
