I am a doer, and I will get things done for you in Kensington. Feel free to contact me with your priorities for our community.I am a five-year resident of Kensington, but my local roots go deep: my grandmother graduated Cal in 1932, and my grandfather founded Wiegmann & Rose in Richmond and co-founded the Good Government League. I inherited my grandfather's spirit for community involvement. I try to live by the motto: If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem. I came to Cal as an undergrad in 1987, and have lived in the East Bay for most of the past 23 years. I am an attorney by trade. Currently I work at a biotech company in San Francisco, where I review budget proposals and negotiate contracts. I'm a doer, and as a KPPCSD director, I will move forward on your priorities: there is a way for us to use the Annex for everyone's enjoyment. We need bathroom access for all users of the Kensington Park, and I will help us get bathroom facilities as soon as we possibly can. There is a way to enhance our crime prevention, and I will help Officer Doug Wilson reach out to the community to get more folks signed up to receive his safety communiqués. There is an answer to the question of how to achieve undergrounding of the power lines. I will work hard on these and all other priorities of our community. Kensington is very special; but we each have to collaborate with one another in order to keep it that way. I want to hear from you in order to understand your particular priorities for our community. As a member of the KPPCSD, I want to make sure that everyone feels they have a voice, and everyone feels heard. Please do not hesitate to contact me directly to discuss your issues for our community. Thank you for voting, and thank you for your support. - Mari Metcalf |
