Ron Leone was the principal of American High School. He has had thirty-five years of educational leadership experience. He was the teacher of the year in the San Ramon Valley Unified School District, Social Studies department chairman, and teachers' association president. Ron has coached high school baseball, and he has coached several championship mock trial and constitutional academic teams. Ron Leone was an assistant principal at California High School and a house principal at Deer Valley High School. He was a summer school principal for thirteen years. Just prior to coming to American High School worked as the coordinator of Child Welfare and Attendance and the director of Student Services in the Antioch Unified School District. Ron was raised in the lower socio-economic, Bay View/Hunter's Point District of San Francisco, but worked his way through college earning his BA and teaching credential from San Francisco State and his MA and Administrative credential from St. Mary's college in Moraga. Outside of education, Ron has served as an elected member of the Mt. Diablo Health Care District for 16 years; he also served as the Chairman of the John Muir Health System and is currently serving on the City of Concord 's Planning Commission.
