Why I am running for PH City Council

By Suzanne Angeli

Candidate for Council Member; City of Pleasant Hill

This information is provided by the candidate
Community Involvement joining in activities throughout the City. Listening to what the people of Pleasant Hill have to say.
I am seeking election to the Pleasant Hill City Council. My campaign is about GIVING YOU A VOICE in city government, as I did during my 9 years on the Council from 1999-2008, twice as Mayor, and as a Planning Commissioner before that. I've proven I can work hard on the problems facing the community we cherish. GIVING YOU A VOICE means involving our citizens in the tough decisions we face. The state continues to balance its budget on our backs, taking redevelopment money that we need for our public services. I'll fight those raids wherever I can. It means listening to you about our priorities + our schools, libraries, public safety and roads. It means making hard decisions with limited dollars, supporting those things that benefit the greatest number, not narrow interests GIVING YOU A VOICE means paying attention to neighborhoods, the core of our community. It means maintaining a strong business environment for our City, because we need to protect our jobs and tax base. GIVING YOU A VOICE has always been my hallmark, seeking community involvement, studying the issues and always making the choices I though best for our City. We always balanced our budget; we always had a reserve.
