Candidate for
Treasurer/Tax Collector; County of Monterey

There are three points of emphasis in John's Campaign:

Advocate for Good Government- The "New Normal" is a reality. Governments have to realize that the revenue they've grown used to is not coming back anytime soon. I will advocate to change the mindset from cut services to cut the bureaucracy.

Customer Satisfaction - The office must embrace its role as one of the county's main interfaces with its customers, the taxpayers, and pursue a policy of increasing customer satisfaction.

Process Improvement - The Treasurer-Tax Collectors' Office is a very large financial services operation. I will bring process improvement methodologies that I have successfully implemented in the private sector to the department with the goal of making process improvement an every day event.

The Treasurer-Tax Collector is an elected office in Monterey County, and therefore it is a leadership position, not just a job. The holder of the office needs to take on the role of leader and work to make Monterey County a better place by promoting good government, economic opportunity and financial education.
