ON THE IMPORTANCE OF SAFETY

Dana talks about how important safety of investments has been and will be in the future.
When Ford decided on using "Safety is Job One" as a slogan, they meant it is several ways. Of course, the safety of their customers was one way they meant it.

In the case of the City Treasurer the customers of the services are the people of our wonderful city. For the last 10 years I have been an active partner in putting conservative investments policies in place, then reviewing and reassessing those policies regularly.

We have managed a portfolio that at times approached $200 million and I am happy to be able to say we never lost a dime of the principal. I am dedicated to the safety of your money.

Safety is the single most important portion of the job to me. It is not my job to speculate with your money or try to manipulate the portfolio with "Creative" investments. That is a recipe for disaster.
