I have lived in Media with my husband Brian for close to 8 years and we can't imagine living anywhere else. Like so many other residents, our historic home is both a joy and a challenge, but we wouldn't trade it for the world! Our life in Media has opened up opportunities for us to meet and work with many different groups and organizations. I am very fortunate to be a member of America's First Fair Trade Town Committee and am inspired by the fact that our town's belief in social and economic equity led us to be first in the nation to declare it as a community standard. I've also been lucky to work with the wonderful people of the Media Arts Council who do so much to bring unique and colorful events to our community. The work they do, along with the work of the Media Business Authority, makes us a destination to many in our area. I am now very fortunate to also work in Media with the Mendoza Group on Veteran's Square. This stand-out advertising organization was drawn to open its doors in Media because of its connection to Fair Trade and the incredible vibrancy of our town. It's really great to see how our community draws quality businesses as well as visitors! In the past, I've worked with Dr. Henry A. Kissinger, Morgan Stanley and The Philadelphia Eagles. Despite that colorful background, working, living and volunteering in Media has been, and continues to be, my most satisfying experience. I'd very much like to continue to serve our community on Borough Council. Despite partisan differences, it is a venue where we can accomplish great things. In my mind, a Borough Council is a group of neighbors who are motivated by a love for their community and a shared desire to promote its safety, prosperity and quality of life. While some of our problems are complicated, the overriding vision is simple...let's keep Media a safe and happy haven for our families and a vibrant environment for our businesses. |
