Mike Tracy for Ventura City Council 2009By Michael "Mike" TracyCandidate for Council Member; City of San Buenaventura | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
Mike Tracy is the former Ventura Police Chief and a lifelong resident of Ventura. His only motivation to run for public office is to better the quality of life for everyone who lives in his home town.I am a lifelong resident of Ventura who loves this community, and have been blessed by my life's experiences here. I grew up on Ventura Avenue and attended local public schools. After college I became a member of the Ventura Police Department. I was the Police Chief the last 6 years of my 30 year career, and retired December, 2004. As Police Chief I encouraged civic engagement and involvement through community policing, storefronts, and volunteerism. The community councils grew from those efforts. Over the years I became acquainted with many of you, and have been involved in virtually every neighborhood in this City. I also know some of you through my wife, Linda, a retired Ventura Unified School District teacher. I've served on the Boards of the Boys and Girls Club, Caregivers, Police Activities League, and the Salvation Army. I know this city well and understand the "ins and outs" of municipal government. I am a proven leader and from experience know how to make things happen. I believe we all want a SAFE, PROSPEROUS, and CREATIVE Ventura. My commitment is to always DO THE RIGHT THING for Ventura. The only endorsement I seek is your VOTE on November 3. |
