Candidate for
City Council; City of South San Francisco

My husband, Dave Silva, and I were both born and raised in South San Francisco. We attended the local schools and programs along with our siblings. My folks still live in the family home on Avalon Drive.

South City is a great community in which we raised our *three children. And I want to see this opportunity extended to future generations.

Our schools are hurting, we need more public support and involvement. Housing is a real concern as we have 400 +/- homes that are in foreclosure. And our local jobs have gone overseas. The economy is down and crime is up. Our city budget is hurting so we must do more with less and still maintain services to our residents.

I understand the needs of our community first hand as a daughter, wife, mother and neighbor and a business woman. We need a new voice on our council representing our needs.

I will ensure that all of our residents have a meaningful opportunity to be heard in an open local government.

I will demand line by line budget review ensuring fiscal management and cost effective spending.

I will work for strong emergency and city services and safe neighborhoods with good schools.

I will continue to fight negative impact of growth while preserving what we love about this city, in a responsible and sustainable way.

I will take seriously the environmental stewardship of our bay, mountains, trails, air and water.

I will use my life experiences and your input to help lead our city to the place of prosperity. Thank you for your support.

• Our 32 year old daughter Angela is the manager of a San Carlos business. Our 30 year old son Michael is a Firefighter with San Diego. Our 29 year old son Jeremy is a Firefighter with San Francisco. All 3 are graduated from El Camino High School, although Dave and I attended the rival, South City High.
