Goals and Priorities

• Adopt a conservative fiscal plan which recognizes current economic conditions
• Conclude the negotiations between the Union and District fairly and rebuild Department morale
• Maintain and enhance high service levels and public satisfaction
• Enhance the outreach programs to our communities (e.g. disaster preparedness)
• Complete and adopt a realistic strategic plan
• Develop and adopt a key position succession process and plan
• Explore opportunities for greater efficiencies in the Department and greater cooperation and cost saving programs with other Districts and agencies

Menlo Park Fire Protection District is a trend setter and one of the best emergency response agencies in the United States. My interest in the Board developed from the work I have done on Emergency Preparedness in Atherton.

• We should continue and enhance the work in Disaster Preparedness for all our communities, fostering tightly knit cooperation with the residents and agencies in those communities.
• With my background in technology, management and strategy I can contribute to the continued excellence of the District by participating in future strategic plan development.
• We need to strive to continue a strong but prudent financial base for the District.
• Finally, we need to continue support our excellent personnel who have garnered so many accolades.
