San Mateo County, CA | November 3, 2009 Election |
Financial StabilityBy Karyl MatsumotoCandidate for City Council; City of South San Francisco | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
With diversified revenue streams and prudent expenditure plans South San Franciso will be fiscally sound.I will continue to proactively secure new revenues and prioritize investment in infrastructure to prevent costly future repairs. I will work to attract and support new development as part of that effort. For example, I support Measure O on the ballot as it does not burden our residents and allows our hotels to remain competitive with neighboring cities. The 1% increase will generate approximately $600,000 annually to support essential city services. Moreover, it is local revenue that cannot be diverted by the State. |
