I am a native Californian and have lived in South San Francisco for 29 years. I was first elected to City Council in 1997 and have had the honor and privilege of serving as your mayor in 2000, 2004 and 2009. I am only the second woman in the City's 101-year history to serve on City Council.

Significant Accomplishments in 2009:
  • Completion of Centennial Way and the Bay Trail
  • State of the City Address televised
  • Established Volunteer Day
  • Established a holiday program for home-bound seniors
  • Initiated the adoption of Echo Company Marines
  • Broke ground for Ferry Service to South San Francisco
  • Skateboard Park to be completed before year's end

I bring to the City Council extensive work experiences in the public (District Chief of Staff, State Senator Quentin Kopp; Legislative Aide, San Mateo County Supervisor Anna Eshoo), private (Executive Assistant to the Vice President of Finance, California Casualty Management Company; Project Manager, Hayden J. Lee Consultants; Customer Service Coordinator/Sales Support Representative, PPG Industries) and nonprofit (Interim National Director, Japanese American Citizens League) sectors.

Community involvement includes having served or been a member of 30+ civic/nonprofit city and county boards, commissions and committees.
