City Council; City of Half Moon Bay

The seal of Half Moon Bay captures the balance that will epitomize my tenure as a city council member, focused on strengthening the foundation of our community as a place `To Live, To Work, and To Play' (Vivir, Trabajar, Jugar).

To maintain this balance and move forward, I believe that it's essential to embrace five critical drivers for our success as a community. These are the foundation of my political philosophy.

STRONGER COMMUNITY

• Build a stronger sense of community by giving the highest priority to the needs and interests of the residents and families of Half Moon Bay

• Ensure that our unique natural environment is duly considered and respected as a key element within all decision making

• Support and work within the legal requirement as dictated by Measure D, and endorsed broadly by our community, which limits growth to one percent

• Provide strong financial stewardship for the city while planning the future use of city controlled assets, including the Beachwood property we now own

• Work with existing local businesses to ensure that the city is not impeding their continued success, recruit net new businesses to establish themselves in HMB, and collaborate with the Chamber of Commerce to increase awareness of our Main Street and other attractions

• Develop clear short and long term goals, communicate them broadly, and define the path to follow to achieve them so that we can help ensure forward progress toward the objectives that are most important to our city

This is our home, and our residents and families should get the best of what we can offer, not the leftovers from a potentially misguided and less well thought out approach.
