Full Biography for Cynthia Batt

I have lived in Tiburon since 1981 and moved to Belvedere in 2002. I raised two sons, Taylor and Palmer Batt. Taylor is married to another local resident, Rossie Merrill and works for PayChex. Palmer graduated from West Point in 2008 and is a 2nd Lt in Iraq. Both boys attended the Reed School District and graduated from Redwood High School. I have been a small business owner since 1985. I had a business with six locations and over 50 employees. In 1991, I went back to graduate school at San Francisco State University to get an MBA. While writing my thesis, I developed an idea for a cutting edge business in a mature industry. Subsequently, I wrote a business plan and opened the business in the Embarcadero Center which is located in the San Francisco Financial District. I currently have a customer base of over 6000 and have a payroll of $500,000 annually. The business is thriving in a very difficult economic environment because I am committed to established business principles and have developed finely tuned management skills. In the almost 30 years that I have lived on the Tiburon Peninsula, I have been involved in many community service organizations. I started as a member on the Board of Directors for the Strawberry-Tamalpais Preschool, worked on many Reed School Foundation fund raisers and later involved with the Redwood High School footbal team. I am a firm believer in community service and believe that eveyone including dogs must give back to their communities. Piedmont, my new dog, is a happy contributor to Guide Dogs by fathering new litters. |
