Political Philosophy for BILL Sherman
Candidate for |
I would oppose the extension of the SR 710 in any form. The tunnel is not the correct solution to the need to move goods from the ports to the Western United States. Trains would move these goods faster, cheaper, and with less threat to our environment. The tunnel will not resolve the congestion on the north-south arterials in our community according to a study of the Southern California Council of Governments. The tunnel is an economic and health disaster for our City. We must build a coalition with La Canada Flintridge, Glendale, Pasadena, Burbank, and the communities of Northeast Los Angeles to influence the legislature in Sacramento to remove the SR710 from the State Highway map.
Seniors need more support in our City. The senior Center does a good job, but it could do a great job. New and more innovative goals must be set to better the lives of our senior citizens. |
