KATHLEEN L. MIDSTOKKE, MMC

Kathleen was born in Los Angeles and graduated from North Torrance High School and El Camino College, receiving an AS Degree in Legal Assistant and making the Dean's List. She has continued her education at Cal State Long Beach with a major in Professional Studies and qualified as a member in Alpha Lambda Delta and Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Societies in 2007.

Kathleen is a Master Municipal Clerk with over 29 years of local government experience. She is also a Certified Paralegal having worked in the area of Municipal Law with a particular focus on Election Law. In 2007, she served on the California Secretary of State Election Audit Standards Committee representing the City Clerks of California. She is currently completing her term as an elected Director for the Southern California City Clerks Association. She has served over five years on the Legislative Committee for the City Clerks Association of California reviewing and proposing new legislation. She is a long time member of the National Association of Parliamentarians and has served on the Los Angeles County Voter Outreach Committee for many years now.

Her past experience includes serving as City Clerk and Council Member for the City of Hermosa Beach (1984 + 1993).

Locally, she is a life-time member of the Hermosa Beach Historical Society and supported its reorganization when she was elected City Clerk. She also belongs to Hermosa Beach Friends of the Library.

She has a son, a daughter and three grandchildren, who all live in the South Bay.
