Candidate for
Governing Board Member; Rosemead Elementary School District

In 1964 I graduated from California State University Los Angeles with a BA in Education. I soon married Maria Yolanda Duarte and we moved to the house we now live in. All three of our children: Aaron, Jeannette, and Mathew, attended Encinita Elementary School; Muscatel Middle School, and then graduated from Rosemead High School. They each earned their degrees from University of California institutions, and are now positive contributors to society, raising their own families. Yolanda and I have been blessed with 7 grand children and spend as much time as we can with them. Both of us have been PTA presidents, and have been long time volunteer's of the District, and the City of Rosemead.

I've been retired for almost 7 years now, and have spent much of that time as a Member of the Rosemead School District Board of Trustees. In this time of financial instability, there are many challenges that face each school district. I have been most fortunate to be part of a team of Board Members that has a Superintendent, and District Administrators who are energetic, knowledgeable, and whose main objective is to prepare our children to be productive, responsible community members. We are most fortunate to have this team.

The District and the City of Rosemead has been a great place for us to raise our family. We would like to show our loyalty and appreciation by continuing our volunteer work in the years to come.
