Candidate Statement

Our school district is not alone when facing economic hardships which impact our programs. The economic recession, budget gaps, and shortages in cash flow have all impacted our ability to stay ahead of the curve as a district. Fortunately, the community has been very supportive and contributes heavily to offset the budget shortfalls. However, the gap is getting harder to bridge and real solutions are needed moving forward. This is a time when good business experience, leadership, and fresh ideas are needed most. I believe I can be objective in navigating these troubling times and find alternative solutions. The solution is not always asking the community for additional funding!

Our community, which includes our children, should have a voice. Transparency is very important and increased accountability at all levels is equally important.

I co-founded a textiles company over a decade ago with a dream, vision, and a lot of hard work. With offices now in 3 countries I know what it takes to run a multi-million dollar enterprise and how to run it efficiently and effectively.

I have a Bachelors degree in Business Administration and an MBA in International Business. With a strong financial background, analytical skills, and budget planning experience I can help navigate our district through these tough economic times.

Like all parents, our hope is to see our children get the most out of life. This comes from a supportive home, teaching our children to make good choices in life, and a good education. I feel my education and business experience would be an asset to our community, school district, and most importantly our children. I respectfully ask for your vote for the Hermosa Beach School Board November 3rd.
