My family and I first moved to Duarte in 1968. I later moved away, but returned in 2004. I started serving my community 2006, by applying to the Community Services Commission, now called the Public Services Commission filling an unexpired vacancy. After completing my commitment, I applied to the Economic Development Commission, where I now serve. I have served on other city and state commissions, and on the Board of Directors of several nonprofit organizations. As an accountant, with a master's degree in Business Administration, who at one time was a small business owner sees an opportunity to put to use in service my knowledge and experience; which can help the city. As a councilmember, I will support the city, by facilitating the generation of new ideas to expand its services to youth and seniors, by supporting plans to improve transportation and traffic conditions for its local residenats, by finding ways to recover lost revenues of approximately $9 million and by helping to educate the public on what is happening in the city of Duarte. My objective as Councilmember is to be a significant representative in supporting the city of Duarte's growth and development in businesses, in jobs, in housing, and in its infrastructure. |
