I am seeking re-election to represent La Caņada Flintridge, Pasadena and Altadena on the governing board of the Pasadena Area Community College District.

PCC is at a crossroads. Community colleges throughout California are facing severe cuts in funding. We have been forced to make deep cuts that have jeopardized student access at a time when it is needed more than ever. Despite these and other challenges, we must preserve the outstanding academic instruction and career training necessary to help students transfer to four-year universities or find good jobs in our rapidly changing economy.

I will continue my efforts to secure funding for critical programs and insist on prudent financial management and accountability of hard-earned taxpayer dollars.

In this election, I will work diligently to focus attention on the future of Pasadena City College. I will respectfully seek the support of voters in La Caņada Flintridge, Pasadena and Altadena with my message emphasizing quality instruction, service to the community, and sound fiscal management.
