Walter's Upbringing

Walter was born in Kiev, Ukraine. In 1979, at the age of 9, he immigrated to the United States with his family, and settled in Philadelphia. After completing his high school education, Walter moved to Washington, D.C. to attend the American University.

Walter's Decision to Run for School Board

Walter married his best friend in the fall of 2000. In 2003, a year after the birth of their first daughter, Walter and Margie decided to move to the Philadelphia area to be closer to their families. They spent over a year researching different neighborhoods and school districts before deciding to purchase a home in Springfield Township. Springfield Township School District stood out for both its superior academics and its diversity.

Walter's decision to run for the school board was inspired by his desire to give back to the community that has already offered so much to him and his family. He is committed to excellent schools, as they are the backbone of vibrant and healthy societies. Walter knows that his strong financial background, business acumen and experience will make him an invaluable asset to the School Board of Springfield Township, not to mention his personal interest in the schools...his children!

Walter's Relevant Experience

Walter graduated from American University with an undergraduate degree in Finance and later an MBA in International Business. Over the years Walter worked in a variety of financial roles. He served as a Senior Financial Analyst at the Airlines Reporting Corporation, spent 2 years as a Project Manager at a Russian Airlines Clearing House, worked as a Client Financial Specialist at Accenture LLC and as a Regional Project Accounting Manager with Wireless Facilities, Inc. In early 2001, Walter decided to make a career move and pursue his passion; real estate. He obtained his license and began to build his practice in the Northern Virginia area.

Today, Walter runs a successful real estate and property management company and lives with his wife and 2 daughters in Wyndmoor. His older daughter is a 1st grader at Erdenheim and his younger daughter can't wait to start kindergarten in the fall. He is active in the community and continually shows his commitment to children by volunteering for township and school sponsored activities.
